If you already know how to make a magic circle, or another type of closed crochet circle, this should be fairly easy. As for the magic circle, the method I use is best explained visually, so I may post a video in the near future. Anyways, here is a very easy crochet sphere pattern that I use for most doll heads:
Sc 6 in magic circle
2 sc in each sc around - 12
(1 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around - 18
(1 sc, 1 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around - 24
Sc around for 3 rounds - 24
(1 sc, 1 sc, dec) around - 18
(1 sc, dec) around - 12
*****if you are going to add safety eyes, now is the perfect time to do so, while you have most of the head done, but before you’ve closed the circle*****
Dec around, fasten off - 6
